Master of Science

All six of the following requirements must be met in order to qualify for admission into the MS program with a concentration in Geomatics:

 

1. Availability of space, resources and faculty expertise (note that a specific Geomatics faculty member must agree to be your supervisor),
2. An earned Bachelor's degree,
3. An upper division undergraduate GPA of 3.0 or the equivalent,
4. Three letters of recommendation,
5. Scores of at least 500 on each of the Verbal and Quantitative portions of the GRE, and
6. If English is not the native language, a score of at least 550 on the paper-based TOEFL or of at least 213 on the computer-based TOEFL. If the earned Bachelor's degree is from an English-speaking institution, the TOEFL is not required.

 

 

Doctor of Philosophy

All seven of the following requirements must be met in order to qualify for admission into the Ph.D. program with a concentration in Geomatics:

 

1. Availability of space, resources and faculty expertise (note that a specific Geomatics faculty member must agree to be your supervisor)
2. Earned Bachelors and Masters degrees or their equivalents
3. An upper division undergraduate GPA of 3.0 or the equivalent
4. A graduate GPA of 3.25
5. Three letters of recommendation (including a favorable recommendation from the Masters program advisor).
6. Scores of at least 500 on each of the Verbal and Quantitative portions of the GRE.
7. If English is not the native language, a score of at least 550 on the paper-based TOEFL or of at least 213 on the computer-based TOEFL. If the earned Bachelor's or Masters degree is from an English-speaking institution, the TOEFL is not required.

 

NOTE: Exceptions to these admission requirements ("Conditional Admission") will be considered if the prospective Graduate Advisor submits a petition to the Graduate Programs Committee during the application process. Students admitted conditionally into the SFRC must receive a GPA of 3.0 or better in the first 12 graduate credit hours of formal courses after admission in order to continue in the program. International students conditionally admitted with a verbal GRE below 320 and/or a TOEFL score of less than 550 are required to participate in the Graduate School’s Scholarly Writing Program.
