National accreditation
by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) was achieved
in 1986 through the Related Accreditation Commission. ABET will provides
world leadership in assuring quality and in stimulating innovation in applied
science, computing, engineering, and technology education. ABET serves the public through the promotion and advancement of
education in applied science, computing, engineering, and technology. The
following are some of important functions performed by ABET:
The Geomatics Program (Undergraduate) achieved reaccreditation in 2007. The accreditation process ensures that all the requirements for a quality education in Geomatics have been fulfilled by the program. The Florida Board of Professional Land Surveyors has
approved the program since its beginning in 1973 for full credit toward Land
Surveying registration. The Florida
Surveying and Mapping Society has also provided
extensive support to the Program. |
